3 Ingredients For Lighting A Fire On Valentine's Day

Ladies and their guys do not have to settle for boring and ordinary this Valentine's Day. Sure, flowers and cards are fantastic and people love them. But, if making a real splash is the desire, lighting the flames of romance this Valentine's Day is the way to go. There are three key ingredients that should go into plans if creating a night to remember is on tap. Taking the lead on setting just the right tone for romance can go to the ladies or the guys. There is nothing that says you ladies cannot get in on the act and your guys will certainly adore you for doing just that.

The three things that come into play to create a perfectly romantic Valentine's Day center on the gift, the setting for the evening and the plan at hand. When these are perfect, you should both enjoy a night that will not be forgotten. Do not worry though, perfect is not as difficult to attain as some people think.

The Gift

Do not underestimate the importance of a Valentine's Day gift. This goes equally for the guys and gals. Setting a romantic tone with the present alone is quite possible, if the right gift is selected. Think something that will appeal to her sentimental side or maybe a gift that will get his engines revving. From personalized poems and sophisticated gift baskets loaded with just the right supplies for sensual pampering, the ideas for presents that strike the right chord are boundless. Have a little fun with the selection and do keep romance in mind if lighting a fire is the plan. There is nothing that says your gift cannot be a little naughty either. There is nothing quite like a saucy game for a couple to get the sparks ignited.

The Setting

A cozy French restaurant with candlelight and gourmet food cooked to culinary perfection is always nice, but the truth is the setting has become passé. If you really want to set your ladylove on fire or get your man's engine revving, keep the food but change the venue. Think take out and make sure the location is romantically seductive. Your own private bedroom with some extra special touches, a plush hotel room with a heart-shaped tub, a lakeside picnic (if the temperatures are warm enough) are all perfect ideas. Just remember the setting is as important as the gift if sparking a night of passion is the real plan.

The Agenda

You do not necessarily want to over plan your romantic Valentine's Day interlude, but under-planning is not a smart idea either. Have a few ideas in mind for how the evening should proceed. Start off with dinner in your private, romantic location, for example, and then move into candlelit slow dancing and romancing. Share your gifts over a seductive dessert of a luscious chocolate fondue for two and then enjoy what comes next.

When the right ingredients are carefully blended together, a Valentine's Day to remember will result. Think about your ladylove and what makes her heart go pitter-patter or consider what might really make your man weak in the knees. Mix these ideas with a seductive location and the right plan for the evening and you will both remember Valentine's Day 2008 fondly and perhaps even with a blush.

Guys Can Avoid Valentine's Day Cliches and Come

With February 14th fast approaching, guys all over the world are starting to write their shopping lists. Cards, flowers and jewelry tend to be the top purchases year in and year out. These traditional Valentine gifts are sensational, but if you consider them a little more closely, they are a bit cliché. They can even get a little boring for a lady to receive year after year.

Seriously, how many flowers does one sweetheart really need?

Guys, it is time to break from tradition and get more creative in shopping for Valentine gifts. Resolve to make February 14, 2008, the year of change. Our ladies are tired of the same old, same old. They want to see us exercise our brains and come up with something truly spectacular.

Yes, that is a tall order. After all, if we select wrong and disappoint, it can be worse than not buying a present in the first place. Sadly, missing Valentine all together is akin to forgetting her birthday, or even more horrific an anniversary. So, it is easy to see why guys take the easy bet and go cliché every year. Many think that it is better to be safe than sorry. While this might be true, it does not hurt to think outside of the box once in a while. Guys who are particularly shaky about this notion can hedge the odds in their favor by doing both. If you go crazy, but back it up with traditional, you will not go wrong.

So, how does a guy break out of the boring box and dazzle his sweetheart with a stunning Valentine?

That all depends on the sweetheart in question. Consider your lady and her particular likes and dislikes. Pay attention to the things she says she wants and maybe even the things you think she will benefit from.

If your lady is one who works nearly around the clock, pamper her a little. Think about ways to get some of the load off her shoulders, sweep her off for a romantic getaway, or simply unplug the alarm clock and let her sleep in. Backing this up with a traditional gift does not hurt, but let the main present be your attention to detail when it comes to pampering her. Wait on her hand and foot and ensure her every need is tended to. She is going to love you for it.

Should your lady adore surprises, treat her to a special scavenger hunt to find her gift. Make that gift something she has really had her eye on, rather than simply the basic Valentine fare. Use things like flowers, chocolates and gift baskets as teaser presents along the way, leading up to the real prize.

Some ladies love adventure. If yours does, appeal to this side of her personality. Present her with a gourmet gift basket and tickets for a quick getaway. Or, if she prefers her adventures in private, consider a slightly saucy gift for the boudoir that you both might enjoy.

Guys, it is possible to break out of the cliché mold and not get strangled by your Valentine. Play to her personal tastes and her desires and you will not go wrong. If you find yourself a little nervous about the idea, back up your bolder present with a traditional one. Doing both will really win her heart.
