Top 5 Unique Valentine's Day Gift Ideas For Boyfriend - Let Him Know That You Care For Him

It's hard to meet someone that you really love and get along with. Some believe in unconditional love in which both love birds shown different ways to express their affection towards one another. When it's near Valentine's Day, most women find that it's hard to find out what their male sweethearts really want. Basically, most men are not very particular on gifts and it's important to find one that really makes him feel special as a lovely way of expressing your gratitude for having such a wonderful boyfriend.

Some men treat Valentine's Day like any ordinary day, however. It's like seeing them lack of adrenaline in which means that they are not very keen in celebrating this special day with their lover. In that case, gifts like boxers, socks, greeting cards and ties really put them in total boredom. Therefore, you need to consider these unique gifts for your boyfriend as follows:

5 Budget Gift Ideas For A Memorable Valentine's

Many people love to say that Valentine's Day is becoming too commercial, and claim that it is just another way for card and gift shops to make money. Personally, I feel it is lovely to have just one day out of 365 where people in love are reminded to celebrate one another and the special relationship they have. After all, I think it can get to the point where we begin to take each other for granted.

There are so many little things that can make someone's Valentine's Day. You don't have to spend a fortune on Valentines gifts, even if you have the money. It's more about the token of love and the thought that has gone into it, that makes a gift truly appreciated. The fact you can do so much, even if you have no money is what's so beautiful about Valentine's Day.

So here are a few gift ideas to inspire you to make Valentine's Day a special one.

Making an effort

For starters, the simple idea of a Valentine's Day card is always guaranteed to bring a smile to your partners face on Valentine's Day morning. It needn't be big or flashy, it doesn't even have to be shop bought. What can make a token of affection into something truly special is making it unique. Why not make the card yourself? Just some coloured card, a pen and a little imagination is all it takes. It could be as simple as a drawing of a heart with both your name inside, or maybe glueing a favourite picture of the two of you onto it, which can then be framed for posterity.

If you find you don't have time to make your own card, why not try and compose a little poem or message during your commute to work, or during lunch, which you can write inside your shop bought one. The gift idea is the same - it just needs a little thought and effort.

Cook a romantic meal for 2

Can't afford a meal out in a fancy restaurant? Then why not treat your girlfriend, boyfriend, husband or wife to a night off and cook a meal for them instead? It can be just as romantic as a restaurant meal - if not more so. Think of your partners favourite foods and drink and spend a few hours preparing a delicious meal. Think delicious, sexy food such as oysters or scallops for starters, a creamy pasta dish for main and chocolate or strawberries for pudding. Top it off with a bottle of bubbly, flowers on the table and a lit candle in a bottle and bob's your uncle. Even if the meal doesn't come out perfect, the fact you put so much thought into the gesture will make all the difference. It's an ideal way to celebrate if you cannot get a babysitter either.

Enjoy a night in and be pampered

This year, Valentine's Day happens to be on a Thursday - a very unromantic weekday. Many people will be at work during the day and it can be hard to find time for one another. With our busy lifestyle, it can be hard to get a chance to spend quality time together, just the two of you. So instead of thinking about making a day of it, how about making a night of it? Get prepared to enjoy a magical Valentine's night together. After a hard day at work, what better than a luxurious soak in a hot bubble bath? Light a few candles or get some floating spa lights, some soft music to relax too and help get you in the mood for a nice bathe together. Massage each others aching spots with some perfumed oil, whisper sweet nothings to one another and enjoy your time together.

I.O.U. tokens

A simple but effective idea that works a treat and costs you nothing at all. Simply write an I.O.U on a piece of paper or card offering to do something for your partner at anytime. It could be as romantic, sexy or simple as you like. Some examples are: I.O.U 1 massage, I.O.U the next choice what we watch on TV or I.O.U a washing up session. Alternatively you could suggest a night out for example I.O.U a visit to the cinema. This something cheap and cheerful, but it'll take you back to the days when you first started dating and holding hands. The only limitation with this Valentine gift idea is your imagination!

Games for two

Spending time together is crucial to your relationship together, and that is why I think Valentine's Day is an opportunity to bring couples closer together. How often do we get to spend time and do little things like play games or spend 2 hours exploring each others bodies and indulging in our pleasure zones. You can make up your own game, massage one another or get an adult game such as Nookii which costs under £25. The great thing is this game doesn't just last for the night, but for a lifetime, as you can use it over and over again. These games can be as fun, adventurous or sensuous as you wish. The key thing is to both enjoy it.

Hopefully these gift ideas have inspired everyone to have a fabulous Valentine's Day this year and in years to come.

The Woman You Love - Valentine's Day Do's and Don'ts

I will start simply by stating the things you should NEVER do.

Never buy her something 'practical' unless it's only a part of the gift or you are hiding something better inside of it. No kitchenware, no small appliances, no furniture and nothing that she knows you wanted.

What to do for the day?

Surprises are great. What are her interests? Plan a trip to a nearby town for the day or even a weekend and do the things SHE likes to do. If she loves boating, nature, science, art, seafood and karaoke find places that offer those services. Perhaps you can start the day with a light breakfast and a stroll down a nature trail that leads to a canoe rental place and take her for a stroll on the lake/stream/river. After that hit a local museum for a dose of art and science. Stroll around and find a place to have a snack. Perhaps go back to the hotel to change and head to a Seafood restaurant. If you live near water, it doesn't have to be expensive. Usually places with a pier have very affordable fresh seafood. After dinner, hit the town's Karaoke bar and dedicate a song you will sing just for her. If you are a terrible singer ask her to sing for you -- because you can't live without hearing the sound of her voice.

If you're on a budget, don't worry. Women find it terribly romantic when a man plans a date at home. Take a day to stroll through your town and see the sights and once you are home have her change into something nice -- and make sure you remember to dress for the occasion. Yes, I know a tie is uncomfortable and those dress shoes hurt but do it for her, she will like it! Have her sit down to a dinner you are making. Pick her favorite dishes and have at it. Dancing alone in the living room is also a must for couples. No one is watching so there are NO EXCUSES!

As far as buying the right gift, it's really not that difficult. Flowers may seem overdone but we all love them, especially if you choose our favorite one or find an arrangement in our favorite color. Valentine's themed items are great in small amounts. A candle, a stuffed animal, a balloon -- but don't over do it. It makes it look like you don't know her at all and you just 'picked something up' out of habit. I also find that live flowers are more romantic than a cut bouquet.

If you want to do something really special make something for her yourself that she won't forget. Perhaps you both still save your first love letters to each other (or e-mails/text messages) - Having it printed up on special paper and framed along with a keepsake or two from the early stages of your relationship would be a nice way of saying 'I still love you this much'.

The important thing is that you show her that you KNOW her. These things tell her you are listening and that you care. Gifts on Valentine's day need to be FOR HER!

This also applies to the early stages of a relationship. You can still do special things without going overboard -- take your best guess or flat out ask her what she likes and "LISTEN". If you are not sure even after you ask her, you can always give her the gift that every woman loves -- a day of pampering. Do an at home SPA for her with you as her personal servant.

For the other women in your life -- Mom: Something for the home that tells her how much you love her is always the perfect gift.

Little Sister, Niece or Daughter: Something age appropriate and cool. Small kids love those musical stuffed animals that dance and sing or even a plush heart pillow. Older girls may like something like an MP3 player, Spa Basket, Candles or a great book.

With that I leave you and hope that you all have a fantastic Valentine's Day filled with love and appreciation.

As January and February wear on, it's easy to slip into the winter doldrums. After all, with wind and rain lashing at your windows and those dark morning journeys to work, who wouldn't start to long for balmy summer days? However, there are some days that you can look forward to during the slow winter months: Valentine's Day, for instance, is a certain fixture in everyone's calendars, whether you're concocting a surprise for that special someone or simply planning to send your mother a card.

It might seem a bit like Christmas has only just finished, so your potential to come up with new and exciting Valentine's Day gifts might be fairly strained. Rest assured, however, there are plenty of resources available - both on the high street and the web - that can help you come up with innovative gifts for your loved one, whatever your budget.

If you're planning to spend a lot this Valentine's Day, there are plenty of options available to you: for instance, if you plan far enough in advance, why not take your partner to an exotic holiday destination? Spend a week in a romantic island location, such as the Seychelles or the Maldives, and you're sure to stoke the flames of passion during your vacation. Alternatively, travel a little closer to home and take in the romantic wide sandy bays and clear water of Jersey, or spend a weekend in rural Yorkshire or the Scottish Highlands; the rugged beauty of the surrounding scenery is sure to ignite the romantic in you, while the searing cold outside will give you an excuse to cuddle up close!

If you're on a slightly tighter budget, think about buying a unique piece of jewellery for that special person in your life. Many jewellery retailers will stock excellent Valentine's Day gift selections for both men and women. So if you're interested in buying a diamond ring or silver plated earrings for your wife or girlfriend, or you're longing to find a pair of cufflinks or a gold watch for that handsome man in your life, you'll definitely be able to find what you're looking for.

Of course, for many, Valentine's Day is simply a day to spend time with your loved one, rather than an excuse for lavish presents. In this case, a simple card and a special bunch of Valentine's flowers are sure to do the trick! Flowers are often one of the most meaningful gifts you can give on Valentine's Day; better yet, flowers are a gift you can give to a variety of people, from your mother to your best girl, or your boyfriend to your closest male pal. After all, Valentine's Day is about showing the people you love how much you care about them - and a beautiful bunch of flowers is guaranteed to do this in style.
